Nagarjun is called as the founder of the Mahayana system. It is believed that Nagarjun founded Madhyamika School and was the first to teach the Amitabha doctrine. Nagarjun was the greatest Buddhist philosopher and mastered all the sciences and especially Magic art. He is said to have acquired Siddhi by which he magics power he obtained the Rainbow body and was thus able to come invisible at will and transport himself from one place to another by supernatural power. According to Buddhist texts, Shakyamuni predicated the rebirth of his disciple Anand under the name of Nagarjun founder of the Mahayana System.
This fine quality statue is a beautiful representation of Nagarjun Buddha. Expertly sculpted from copper alloy and fully gilded with 24 karat gold, the statue has been finely carved and hand face painted. This sculpture was individually handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by master artisans of the Shakya clan who are considered among the best in the world. These craftsmen are the modern heirs to centuries โ old tradition of creating sacred art for use in temples and monasteries. The fine metalworking techniques have been passed down from generation to generation since ancient times.
