A rice bowl is a clear representation of prosperity, sustenance, fertility and abundance. Thus a Rice Bowl is reputed to assist you in warding off any evils to the household and at the same time aid you in achieving prosperity both in wealth and happiness to your family life. Mostly seen on hands of the Buddha; traditionally, rice bowl would be used by Buddhist monks to accept offerings offered by people. With the offerings the monks received, normally rice or food or money, they used to survive. Even today, such practice exists some parts.

ABOUT THIS RITUAL ITEM

This Rice Bowl is entirely a hand carved item; made copper alloy which has fine intricate filigree hand carvings known as siko carvings in local term and is submitted to a gold plating effect and decorated with Coral, Turquoise, Lapis and Crystal Stones to yield a rich and sensuous finish. The Rice Bowl – Gulpa is decorated with beautiful carvings made from different stones to give a stunning look and designs. This finely carved Rice Bowl – Gulpa is hand crafted by the master artisans of Patan, Nepal.
