Manjushri embodies the omniscient wisdom of enlightenment - the wisdom that discerns the true nature of reality. He can discriminate between correct and incorrect views and between beneficial and non-beneficial actions to be taken on one's spiritual path. He bestows intelligence, knowledge, wisdom, mastery of the teachings, eloquence and memory. His name means "gentle glory" and he is especially revered in Nepal, where he is said to have enabled the founding of civilization in the Kathmandu Valley. Manjushri is also the patron Bodhisattva of the Kadampa (i.e. Gelugpa) order of Tibetan Buddhism, which is famous for its master scholars, calledย geshes.
Manjushri's left hand is inย Vitarka Mudra, the gesture of teaching and intellectual discussion. This hand also holds the stem of a lotus flower that supports theย Prajnaparamita, orย Perfection of Wisdomย sutra. The flaming sword in his right hand symbolizes the power of discriminating wisdom to cut through ignorance, the root of all suffering. Manjushri, in this sword-wielding pose, is representative of the courage and exertion needed to realize freedom.
This fine statue of Manjushri embodies wisdom and spiritual clarity. Finely crafted from high-quality copper alloy, it undergoes a meticulous gold plating process. This radiant finish enhances its divine presence and gives it a rich, sensuous appearance. The statue is delicately hand-painted, highlighting intricate details with remarkable precision.
ย Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, holds the flaming sword that cuts through ignorance. His left hand gracefully holds the sacred Prajnaparamita scripture, symbolizing ultimate knowledge. Every curve and embellishment reflects masterful craftsmanship passed down through generations. The artisans of Patan, Nepal, have poured dedication into creating this sacred piece. This statue serves as an inspiring centerpiece for meditation and spiritual devotion. It embodies enlightenment, clarity, and the pursuit of truth. A fine art piece of sacred art, it brings wisdom and serenity into any sacred space or personal collection.
