ย Dragon (White) Dzambhala โ€“ The Dragon Kubera

Dragon (White) Dzambhala is born from the right eye of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, also known as the manifestation of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva. According to the sutra, his mantra can stop suffering, destroy bad karma, and have a Bodhichitta or mind. His mantra can also avert disaster and sickness. He also brings wealth to all sentient beings by chanting his mantra. The Tibetan name is "Dzambhala Gapee" which means, white Dzambhala. White (Dragon) Jambhala sits on a snow lion, although some artists depict him sitting on a dragon, and in his left hand, there is also a mongoose that spits out precious diamonds and ornaments.

    Gestures and Attributes

White Dzambhala, a revered figure in Buddhist iconography, is depicted with distinct gestures and attributes that convey his symbolic significance. In artistic representations, White Dzambhala is often portrayed in a wrathful posture, his right hand extended downward in the Varada Mudra, symbolizing the bestowal of boons and wish fulfillment. Mounted on a dragon, he exudes a dynamic energy, signifying control over cosmic forces and the ability to navigate life's challenges. Seated atop a lotus throne, the dragon beneath him represents the elemental power of water, while the lotus symbolizes purity and spiritual enlightenment.

White Dzambhala's facial expression is characterized by a fearsome intensity, not to be misconstrued as malevolence, but rather as a powerful deterrent against negativity and obstacles. The hand-carved robes and ornaments adorning the deity reflect meticulous craftsmanship and emphasize his divine and regal nature. The predominant white color associated with White Dzambhala signifies purity, clarity, and the radiant qualities of enlightenment, reinforcing his role in bestowing spiritual wealth and abundance. Jeweled ornamentation further underscores his connection to wealth, with the jewels symbolizing the preciousness of spiritual virtues and the abundance of virtuous deeds. Together, these gestures and attributes create a visual narrative that communicates the profound qualities and blessings associated with White Dzambhala in Buddhist tradition.
