Prayer flags are auspicious flags that contain images of dieties, mantras and prayers which is traditionally believed to bring happiness, peace, prosperity, good fortune, health and victory over the obstacles. Prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom. Prayers inscribed on prayer flags protect from destructive evils and obstacles toward the flag planter and all sentient beings.

This Tibetan Calander Cotton Prayer Flags consist 10 cotton sheets measuring 20 cm X 15.5 cm in five different colors which are printed with the image of Tibetan Calander. These Prayer Flags are medium sized and are best suited for altars or indoors and cars.

The Tibetan calendar or wheel of astrology is based on the cycles of the moon, and various dates are considered especially auspicious  or inauspicious  for certain practices. The Tibetan calendar  is a lunisolar calendar, that is, the Tibetan year is composed of either 12 or 13 lunar months , each beginning and ending with a new moon. A thirteenth month is added every two or three years, so that an average Tibetan year is equal to the solar year.
